January here we go. Brand new year but also the end of holidays, the end of Christmas, and the start of the sales.

Compiègne

Last weekend we went to Compiègne, near Paris, in France. Compiègne is very well known for its "Hippodrome" (horse-races stadiums).

I took these two photos one after the other.

After shooting the first photo of this old man, I decided to look for something completely opposite, more related to Childhood. It took me 5 minutes to find this cute teddy bear in a car.

I am really glad I shot this photo.

It seems to be in a different time, but it's not. And that's what I love with Paris, some areas are like sticked to a certain era, a certain time, as if nothing has ever changed since.

Un après midi dans Paris

Some photos shot while I was hanging out in Paris, few weeks ago.
I had only a 28mm lens... definitely too hard to handle for street-photography.
The roll was an Ilford 400iso Plus, it always provides a certain kind of grain, and a quite low constrast.

Woman with a cat

I recently bought a new lens for my Canon Ae1 analog camera, a 50mm f1.4. I had approximately the same on my digital one, but wanted to try on films. It is seriously beautiful... but so damn hard to manually focus, the depth of field is so short ! Definitely to hard  to handle for street photography as you need to really take time to focus on what you exactly want. I might try it later on f4 for sharper images.
Most of the photos are off focus, but I quite like this one. The roll was a Kodak 200ISO.

On the road

So many car rides to the factory in the country side.

In China this week, for development trip. Lot of work to do but also a good opportunity to get in a totally different kind of environment. I might come back with some pictures...

I recently developed a roll in which there were still some photos from New-York.  I particularly like this one because I really took my time to focus on the woman. I was not easy because of the format of my camera (a Seagull 6x6) but I am glad I succeed.
